Crewe Alexandra can confirm that the red card shown to Ryan Cooney during Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two game against Wrexham has been overturned, following a successful appeal by the Club.
Cooney was shown a straight red card for ‘denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity by deliberately handling the ball’ by referee Seb Stockbridge, after an incident in the 54th minute of the game.
But following a successful appeal The FA have rescinded the red card, with Cooney’s two-match ban now overturned.
The defender will be available for selection for this weekend’s game at Colchester United (Saturday, 3pm).
