Crewe Alexandra have lodged an appeal with The FA to overturn the red card shown to Ryan Cooney during Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two game against Wrexham.
Cooney was shown a straight red card for ‘denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity by deliberately handling the ball’ by referee Seb Stockbridge, following an incident 54th minute of the game.
After reviewing video footage of the incident and speaking with Cooney, the Club believes there is sufficient evidence to overturn the decision.
